Earth Day Special / An Essay on Environmental Issues, Environmental Consequences and Environment Protection with examples
On the virtue of Earth Day, I thought that lets write a post on the issues related to our environment and how can we prevent them. This post includes my views on them and as a citizen of the world, how we all can come together and fight against such issues.
While we all are aware about the increasing rates of pollution as well as population, both cause negative impacts on the earth. Many initiatives had been taken by some have succeeded others have failed due to lack of support. Animals, plants, habitat are getting extinct. The reasons for such circumstances are industrialisation, commercialisation, abducting the lands of animals, pollution caused, etc.
You can see that nowadays the lifestyle of the people mainly living in cities have changed tremendously from using latest trendy clothes, laptops to upgrading mobile phones etc which needs heavy production of which outcome is extraction of all the resources of the planet and as the trend changes this goodies are good for nothing. They get trashed away. It goes into the dumping yard and get wasted at the cost of the earth. People need to understand and need to use the resources according to their needs and instead of throwing away can make use of the 5 Rs' Rethinking, Refuse, Recycle Reduce and Reuse.
Due to heavy production comes the issue of industrialisation which was started in the 1800s from there the modern man has seen great development all through his existence till now. We have noticed some remarkable scientific advancement but the aftermaths are very stressful which will cause adverse effect on the upcoming generation. Scientific advancement is great but if managed and used properly they bring laurels or they are more dangerous than anything. Industries are the baby of science they have shown great development from producing bulk products, quick services, management, etc , making man's life even more luxurious but it is a serious threat on the resources it wants or situated around the industries. Over industrialisation is as dangerous as nuclear bomb destructs the whole area it touches.
Also talking about science comes nuclear weapons, wars between the nations, this all is not going to solve problems but make them worse from environment point of view. The degree of destruction such weapons causes is immense. for instance Hiroshima and Nagasaki. also production of electricity using nuclear power plant have shown result in the earthquake in Japan which resulted in Fukushima nuclear disaster which have made the area uninhabitable for 20 years.

Global warming is among the
many environmental issues that we face today. It’s the major cause which
leads to increase in the sea water levels due to melting down of ice and
glaciers in Arctic and in Antarctica where the impact is the most.
The biodiversity there is also in
problem and also the people living near the coast. Use and emission of CFC gasses carbon
mono oxide, sulfur oxides, nitrate oxides, emission of toxic gasses from the
industries , use of air conditioners refrigerators, are some of the reasons of
global warming. Most of the reasons for global warming is man made and can be regulated
through changing in the lifestyle refusing the use of polluting products,
spreading awareness through advertising and education, etc. These gasses reach the stratosphere, this is where the ozone is situated and the toxic gases depletes the ozone layer and degrades it. Thus the harmful sun rays directly reaches the earth surface and due to the depletion of ozone the rays doesnt get absorbed and filtered before reaching the earth.
Many regions in the world has been suffering from drought. Some areas are going through unexpected rain showers which results into floods. In both the ways the crops get destroyed which lead to farmers suicide and starvation. These are all consequences of global warming which cause imbalance and climatic change. For example people in Maharashtra are going through the phase of drought , the government, news channels and many NGOs have started various programmes to help the people in Vidharba and Marathwada, when an expert was asked upon this situation whether its man made or nature made, he answered its man made because its been having such rain patterns from long time and still there are sugar industries and sugar crops are grown which leads to shortage of water after sometimes and causes drought such crops and industries must be avoided at such places.

From political point of view, the elected member of the houses must strive to make better rules and regulation for protection of environment and give indefinite attention towards implementing them properly. From the society way of thinking the waste which you can see is the
problem which leads to other problems related to sewage ,drainage system.
Awareness must be spread throughout each and every corner of the society for a
better developed and well behaved society with no issues at all.
Making use of sustainable
and green business strategy will help the environment and also to build good
image in the market. Optimum utilization of resources and avoiding wastage will
surely lead a firm towards better corporate and profit as well
Avoiding use of chemical
fertilizers insecticides and such hazardous materials and adapting and
following the organic way of farming is sure shot going to help in ensuring
better profit to the farmer as well as it will help the consumers have a healthy
lifestyle and many years to live. The water which get in contact with the chemicals get contaminated and this water can be consumed by cattles , other wild animals residing near farms or even human beings or it can be deposited in the sea, river or lakes and disturbs the underwater ecosystem. In both the ways its fatal for living beings and the consumer may suffer from cancerous diseases.
Talking about
conserving the earth requires support of many components and to achieve that we
need to change the mind of the masses first. Whether it be developed or third
world nations, everyone must come together and have to fight such global
environmental issues then we can secure a better future ahead of our lives.
Sustainable development is what we aim for and should be acquired through mass
participation and not only by participation of some NGOs or activists. So LOVE THE EARTH, IT'S THE ONLY ONE WE'VE GOT. THANK YOU. HAVE A NICE DAY.
